One of the most enchanting places in this area. Perched on the heights behind it and the lake, covered with dense vegetation, looks like a village of tight houses, joined by arches, with colorful and often frescoed facades, separated by narrow alleys with steps that descend towards the lake.
What to visit:
– the Parish Church of San Giorgio
– Villa Monastero, a former Benedictine convent, now home to international physics conferences
– Villa Isimbardi or, more commonly, “Villa Cipressi” with long rows of cypresses sloping down towards the lake, both belonging to the Provincial Administration.
In the hamlet Vezio we recommend a visit to the Castle.
